Shark-nosed Coupe: 1978 BMW 633CSi
Found here on eBay is a very original 1978 BMW 633csi. This shark-nose 6er wears its original Schwarz black on Veloursrot red color combination. The car was repainted in the last five years and the paint looks good. Inside the front and rear seats have been recently recovered and they are in like-new condition.
The 3.2liter straight six starts easily and runs great. There is a small oil drip that only shows itself after the car has been sitting for about a week. Other than that, everything is dry underneath. Recent engine work includes a tune up, oil and filter change, new air filter and new belts. On a recent trip to The Vintage BMW show outside Asheville, NC the car ran flawlessly and was a blast to take through the twisty mountain roads. Sixteen inch basket weave BMW wheels are shod with brand new tires and B&G lowering springs have been added to a new set of Bilstein shock absorbers. The original springs are included with the sale in case the next owner would like to put it back to the stock ride height.
Inside, all of the heater, blower fan, Alpine stereo, front power windows and gauges function as they should short of the odometer. The previous owner claims that the car has roughly 75-100k on it, which is consistent with the wear present. The passenger side rear window works well however the driver’s side window does not. The sunroof works using the manual crank in the trunk but the electric switch has gone out. The headliner is a bit tired and the dashboard is cracked which is common for e24’s.
Georgia is a no-title State for cars 1981 and older. The previous owner lost the original title for this BMW and Georgia does not issue new titles for old cars. Instead, a VIN check was processed by the police department that came back clear and the tag issued on that. The car will be sold on a bill of sale only. For states requiring title for registration I will provide a tag receipt, letter from the State of Georgia and Bill of Sale.
This is a great first generation 6 series grand tourer that loves eating up mile after mile with ease.
Feel free to email with questions or to arrange a time to see the car.
New Like ’72: Time warp 1972 Porsche 914
Found here on eBay is my very original 1972 Porsche 914. I’ve been the caretaker of 914 #4722909726 for the last 10 years and we’ve been through our fair share of mountain roads and road trips. 914 09726 started life in Lander, Wyoming and then headed east to Dallas, Texas. I became its proud owner in 2007 and brought it to Athens, Georgia. The 914 still wears its original Light Ivory (L80E) paint that shows a nice patina. The original Pedrini wheels are shod with Bridgestone Potenza tires that have lots of life in them. The original black interior is in phenomenal shape considering the 44 years that it has seen.
When I bought the car it still wore its original fuel injection that will accompany the sale. I replaced it with a pair of Weber 40 IDF carburetors soon after for a bit more power. These carbs breathe into a 1.7l block that has been built out to 2.0l specs. 94mm pistons mated with 2.0l heads and a mild cam make this Type IV motor scream. The original heat exchanges are still present so it has perfectly functioning heat. At the back a new Bursch muffler lets everything exhale nicely.
914 09726 has recently benefited from an engine out service and reseal. New piston rings, jug rings, pushrod tube seals, main seals and valve cover gaskets were installed. The valves have just been adjusted and fresh oil and filter added. This motor starts easily and pulls strongly. Triple digits on the highway are reached in a breeze yet it will still get 30mpg when driven conservatively.
The original tail shift 901 gearbox has been swapped for the newer, more precise side-shift unit. It shifts well into all five gears plus reverse and the clutch has plenty of life in it.
Rust can be a killer on these old Porsches. Due to its western origins this 914 shows very little car cancer. The floors, suspension mounts, rocker, and bottom of the firewall are all solid and don’t show any signs of rust. The beloved “hell-hole” underneath the battery tray has a 2.5” hole on the inner portion but the frame and engine support are all sound without rust. 914 09726 was originally fitted with dealer installed air conditioning. It has since been removed and the hole underneath the spare tire where the condenser resided has been patched.
The 356 and 911 craze of the last few years has put these cars out of reach for most enthusiasts. The 914 represent the last of the affordable air-cooled Porsches. The mid-engine layout makes these cars handle like they’re on rails and its VW roots make it efficient and easy to work on. Feel free to email with questions or to arrange a time to come see 914 09726.
Rare for Over Here: 1984 Volkswagen Transporter DOKA Pickup
Found here on eBay is a 1984 Volkswagen Double Cab Transporter. This Doka started life in Europe but was brought over by a previous owner to roam the roads of the Southeast. The Doka has recently been repainted in its original Brilliant Orange color. The paint shines very well and there is zero rust anywhere on the truck. The bed, fold down inners and lower ¼ sections have all been sprayed with bed liner to guard against stone chips. The 1.9l Wasserboxer runs well and breathes through an original Solex carburetor. The exhaust will need replacing as it has a couple holes however it does not leak oil or coolant. The 4-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly into all gears.
Inside, things are in nice shape for a utilitarian truck. The original front seats have a couple of cracks as does the rear bench. The floors, rubber mats and door cards are all in good shape. The Doka shows 86k kilometers (still metric) though the odometer may have rolled once putting the mileage more likely at 111k miles.
Up top, a custom Yakima roof rack will give you plenty of room to stash anything needed for a weekend camping trip leaving the bed open for bikes, boats, etc. The Doka is sitting on 17” five star alloy wheels with 215/50 tires that have plenty of life left in them.
Load up this rare piece of German iron and hit the road for your next adventure.
The Transporter has a clear Georgia title and is located in Athens, GA. Feel free to email with questions.

The front derailleur is the only non Super Record part on the bike being an earlier Nuovo Record piece. The groupo is in great shape and works flawlessly. Thirty-two hole Mavic Reflex tubular rims are built with DT Swiss spokes on Record hubs. The Cinelli Unicanitor saddle shows some wear in the lettering but is otherwise in good condition. It is mounted to a period correct Super Record seat post. Complete dimensions are below. Feel free to email with questions. The bicycle is in Athens, GA. Thank you for bidding.

Rare & early ’02: 1968 BMW 1600
Found here on eBay is this very original BMW 1600.
This 1968 Granada Red BMW 1600 was owned by one family from new until I purchased it in 2012. The original owner’s mother bought the car from Hoffman Imports on April 23rd, 1968. The car then lived a healthy life in Connecticut until it was moved to Colombia, South Carolina in the late 70’s. Stacks of receipts and records track nearly every service and oil change over the last 47 years.
1968 was the second year of production for what was known in Europe as the 1602. There are several parts and details on these early cars that changed from ’69 on. The smooth Euro front indicators remain and there are no side reflectors. The silver belt trim features textured wide oval sections that disappeared on newer cars and the lower black rubber trim is absent. The famous kidney grille and headlight grilles are all aluminum compared to the newer black plastic units. The Roundie taillights feature red turn signals compared to the amber versions that followed. Inside are factory low-back front bucket seats and a set of non-retractable seatbelts. The instrument cluster houses a factory clock in place of the tachometer that most 2002’s and newer cars had. Underneath is a rare long nose differential, early master cylinder with remote brake booster and a complete set of five steel wheels date coded 12/67. The early hubcaps are present complete with the rare separate beauty rings. Keen eyed 02 enthusiasts will notice the smaller 6-fuse box compared to the 12 fuse version that followed. Although many of the ’67 1600’s had 6-volt power this car is one of the first to swap over to 12-volt.
The 1600 is in very original condition. In the late 90’s the original 1.6l powerplant was swapped for a rebuilt 2.0l from a ’74 2002. The only other changes the owner made over the years were the installation of a FIAMM air horn (yes, it sounds like a Ferrari) and a Pioneer tape deck in place of the original Blaupunkt am/fm unit. A Weber 32/36 DGEV Carburetor has been installed but the original SU and airfilter will accompany the sale. Most recently a larger radiator and electric cooling fan from an e30 were installed to help things stay cool. The original radiator and fan will also be included. The 1600 runs, drives and stops.
Mechanical tasks on the horizon will be new motor mounts and exhaust hangers. The common rust spot on these cars are the rear shock towers and the trunk floor. These are in fantastic shape with no rust at all. The trunk and engine bay show no sign of an accident and are very straight. The floorboards are also in good shape. As this is a sunroof car it is pretty common for the drainage channels to rust the rockers below the door hinge. This car does have rust in the rockers that will need to be addressed and there is also rust in front of the pedal box.
This is a great opportunity to grab an early ’02. Values are on the rise and this 1600 would be a great car to make a daily driver or a good candidate for a full restoration. The car is in Athens, GA. Feel free to email with questions or to arrange a time to come and see it.

A true 70’s Wedge! 1974 Lotus Elite
Founds here on eBay is this complete 1974 Lotus Elite project.
Up for auction is an icon of the 70’s! Adorned in its original disco brown is this fantastically cool ’74 Lotus Elite. Colin Chapman had six Formula Once constructor championships by the time this second generation Elite hit the road. With it’s radical looks, 2+2 seating and the same 2.0 liter twin cam 907 engine that ultimately ended up in the Esprit the Elite was the most expensive four cylinder car in the world at its time of release.
This particular Elite was originally purchased in the Northeast by a buyer from Seattle. Lotus didn’t have a West Coast distributor at the time so a cross country purchase was necessary. I have stacks of records tracking this cars maintenance history up until it moved to Tennessee around 2004. The next owner parked it running and driving in a carport in early 2005 when the timing belt interval came due. Not being able to find anyone to work on the car it sat for 10 years until I brought it to Georgia. The engine turns freely and the transmission engages in all four gears plus O/D and reverse. The fiberglas body is in good shape although the paint is faded. The only crack is next to the passenger side headlight. The wishbone frame looks to be in good shape with no visible rust. Unfortunately during its tenure in Tennessee rodents moved in and had their way with some of the wiring. The Lotus does not run. The wiring will need to be addressed before it can be started although being a 40 year old British car this probably isn’t a bad thing. The interior is complete less the headliner but the seats will need to be reupholstered. Everything is here to make a great project. I have several spare parts to go along with it. The Lotus will need to be trailered.
Feel free to email with questions or to arrange a time to come and see it.
The car is in Athens, GA.

Thirty-six hole Red Label Fiamme rims are built with DT Swiss spokes on rare Super Record high-flange hubs. The Super Record bottom bracket has been recently rebuilt along with the Specialized headset (the only non-Campagnolo part on the bike). The Colnago badged Unicanitor saddle shows some wear in the lettering but is otherwise in good condition. It is mounted to a period correct Super Record seat post. Complete dimensions are below. Rolling Chassis for Resto: 1958 Triumph TR3A
’58 TR3A Rolling Chassis eBay Auction
Up for auction is a 1958 Triumph TR3A rolling chassis. This car is perfect for someone with a rusty TR3 that they wish to restore. The frame is in good solid shape and the body has many usable pieces. Both doors are solid, open and close well and retain all the latch hardware. All four wheels roll; the brake, steering and suspension systems are all intact. The original banjo steering wheel with ignition timing horn button is included. The door panels, dashboard and sill leather are in remarkably good condition. Also included is the grille, headlights, both horns, fuse panel and seat frames. Mileage is unknown.

Georgia Mountains Barn Find: 1958 Triumph TR3A
Up for auction is a 1958 Triumph TR3A that we found tucked away in the mountains of North Georgia. While it has been off the road for quite some time most of the parts are present to start a full restoration. The interior is remarkably intact with a complete set of Jaeger gauges, all pull and push knobs with the starter key, original banjo steering wheel with ignition adjusting horn button and original seats and sill leather. The wooden floor boards are still intact as is the carpet padding.
The original convertible top frame is straight and in working condition as are the side skirt frames. The windshield frame is in great shape with very little pitting in the chrome although the driver’s side mount it missing. What we believe is the original 2.0 liter four cylinder engine is all there and is not seized. We have not tried to start it as it will likely need a complete rebuild. See below for the engine and body numbers. Also present are what seem to be the original twin side-draft carburetors with linkage. The transmission is intact and engages into all four gears and the fuel tank is complete without any major rust holes.
The body is intact although in need of plenty of work. More importantly the frame is solid and not rusted through. Make no mistake, this TR3 will need a complete restoration but for someone that wants to build a vintage Triumph roadster to their specifications this will make a great starting point.
See our eBay store (http://r.ebay.com/lgP8sc) for auctions of additional TR3 parts plus this car’s sister 1958 frame and body.
Feel free to email with questions or to come and see the Triumph in person. The car is located in Athens, GA and we will be happy to assist with shipping and transportation logistics. This TR3 will need to be towed but it does roll freely.

1975 Porsche 914 2.0 liter
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1645818
1975 Porsche 914 2.0 liter
Up for sale is a ’75 914 that has spent the last 20 years driving on the twisty, salt free roads of the Southeast. The 2.0-liter engine runs great and pulls extremely well. Strong and even compression numbers are listed below. A pair of Weber 40 IDF carburetors and a free flow exhaust let it breath a little easier while giving it a nice throaty tone to boot. The original sideshift 901 transmission shifts well through all 5 speeds plus reverse with no grinding or sliding out of gear. Rockers, hell hole under the battery tray, the firewall and shock mounts are all solid and rust free. The only bit of rust is in the floorboard under the driver’s seat. See pictures. Originally an A/C equipped car, the condenser is still mounted in the front trunk however the rest of the system has been removed.
This 914 was originally painted Berber Yellow (paint code L11D) but was repainted a slightly darker shade by the previous owner. While there are some dirt spots in the paint here and there, it shines nicely. Front and rear sway bars help it handle like it’s on rails and the 914 Fuchs wheels look great and are straight. The spare tire wheel has a crack in it and is included for originality but should not be used.
The bumpers, top and interior are in good shape. The original carpet set has some wear but no holes. The dashboard has some normal cracking and there are two small cracks in the lower seat bolsters but otherwise they are in great shape. An Alpine CD player has been added and sounds good mated to newer speakers in the kick panels. The original 914 steering wheel is in great shape as are all of the gauges (all working). The odometer functions properly and reads 20,071 but I cannot confirm whether or not it has rolled over. All lights function as they should. All of the glass is in good shape with only a small pea sized chip in the windshield near the driver’s side wiper.
All in all this is a great driver that you can hop in and hit the road. Take it on a vintage rally, out to your favorite bit of curves or pop the top and make a run to town. You’ll get some approving looks and have a blast while you’re at it.
Feel free to email with questions or to set up a time to view the 914. The car is located in Athens, GA.
