1973 BMW 2002 in East Tennessee

2002’s look best with round taillights, small bumpers and big round driving lights. This ’73 ticks all of these and adds period Alpina style wheels to boot. This car claims to be from Florida where it was in storage for quite a while. It can stand some interior work but the bones of a good ’02 look present. Find this one for $4500 in the Knoxville area.

1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia

**Update** July 31, 2013. A friend of the shop went to look at this camper over the weekend. The c/o has not had it on the road yet. Although it does crank and run it has a fair amount of rust at the body seams and around the power and water pickups. Be sure to make a good inspection of this one if interested.

Here’s an ’84 Westy that may have some potential. The body looks straight and the cabinets and canvas top look clean. Its an automatic which isn’t ideal for these busses but for $2800 it may be worth overlooking. Find this one in Bishop, GA.

1964 Volkswagen Beetle

This ’64 Bug was found on Craigslist in Stone Mountain, GA just outside of Atlanta. It was listed for a reasonable $3500 yesterday but upped to $5000 today. We like the look of  pre-’67 bugs with contoured fenders and glass covered headlight assemblies. This one is said to have been converted from 6 to 12v and in “working” condition.

1968 BMW 1600

This 1600 was purchased from the original owner who took delivery of the car in Massachusetts in the fall of 1968. The original 1.6l engine was swapped to a 2.0l unit from a ’74 2002 in the late 90’s with the rest of the car remaining completely stock. We like the low-back seats, euro indicators and lack of federally mandated reflectors and trim that these early cars feature. So far we’ve done brake and cooling system work as we get her ready to be back on the road. Next up will be rust repair, tuning, exhaust and a pair of sidedraft Webers to let her breath a bit easier.
